Build quality

you want something quicker.. you should have bought another bike... can't think why people think these bikes are quick / fast or should be fast in real terms... I know I've said they were fast before, but thats in compasison with my 2010GS... not in comparison with my ZZR or R1.... thin to the point of a small stone would crack or even go through the thing is too thin for me... a few Oz more would make any differance to the speed or agility of the thing... but would make for a better quality part.

Where did I write that I wanted something quicker? I think that the GS-LC is a very quick A to B bike and there are few riders who will pin it to the red line in every gear whilst quick shifting upwards on a winding B road and call this bike slow!

On my 5th 1200GS - an average of 30,000 miles on each before trading in - not one bit of plastic has broken so it must be fit for purpose.

Fit for purpose... I'm sure they will have tested it and done their FMEA's on them etc... and yes, it will pass and be fit for purpose. does that means its correct for the product? No... we have this issue time and again at work, where a bit is correct on the CAD, usualy toleranced beyond all reality, but we are alwayus asking the Engineers to take a step back and think about the application fully.. is it right for the end product?
All I'm saying is they look a bit thin to me

Never had a problem with my RT's build quality....

My 2012 RT had a lot more paint flaking off the engine than my current 2014 GS did at the same age. It was just harder to see because of the fairing.
