For me, the GS is a great all rounder; sporty on the road, great at eating miles comfortably with luggage and a pillion, and competent off the tarmac. But having had the opportunity to put over 100 miles on an S1000RR HP4 (awesome) and about the same distance on an R1200RT (awful) this weekend, it got me wondering what would I buy if I could justify 3 or 4 bikes in the garage.

So this is my current dream list:

- BMW R1200GS LC
- Ducati Panigale 1199S or S1000RR HP4
- Harley Davidson Night Rod
- Husqvarna TE310r

Ah well. One down. 3 to lust after.

I like your list. I have two in my stable

- 2013 R1200GS LC - for touring/offroading/general overnight trips that require luggage
- 2009 Yamaha VMAX - the only true tire shredding muscle bike

If I was to own a super sport I lust after an MV Agusta F4RRI am also a fan of the KTM RC8

R1200GS LC MY 14 that I pick up tomorrow and truly hope its better than the MY13 that's going back to the Fatherland

Also in stock

1972 Daytona T100R 500
1972 Yamaha YR5 350
1944 Matchless G3L 350 the original Adventure bike Just ask my Dad about honing around Egypt on one. LOL

I need a, honestly I need a dirt bike a Serrow maybe ....

If I could ride an HP4 Carbon without either wrecking my back, or killing myself, that'd be number 3!:thumb:beerjug:

What's the benefit of keeping them in a stable? What are the advantages over say a garage or shed?

My dream stable is a bit dull I'm afraid.
I'm not tempted by bright red exotica - I want to ride them.

The ones I've got:-
R1200GS LC - love mine - it's brilliant
XR250R - great green lane bike - ideal if you are short of talent ( that's me!)
K1200RS - about as sporty as my back and wrists can cope with! But I think it's got to go..

The ones I'd like:-
Triumph Scrambler 900 - in dull green it simply looks fabulous - don the wax jacket, and pretend to be Steve mcQueen...
Brough superior - ridden by Lawrence of Arabia - nuff said.
S1000rr - just for that 30 minute ride before my back cries enough.... What a machine...
R1150gs - still the best bike I have ever owned ( apart from the LC) and wish I hadn't sold - and trying to buy back...

That's it. Dull, I know, but I like em.

What's the relevance to the 1200 GS WC Technical section?

Even the Moderator is blinded, knocking one out over his Megamoto.

'tis willy waving so quite at home here :thumb

I am confused though, as it started out as a 'what's your perfect collection of bikes' yet the willy wavers seems to have read that as show us your expensive bikes :nenau

HP2 Sport:D
HP2 E/MM tweaked to my requirements:drool
Current 1150 Pyg with a few grand thrown at it.:eek
Moto Guzzi MGS-01:drool
Brough Superior SS100 JAP:cool:

If I was limited to a total of 4 I'd have to ditch the Guzzi I guess:nenau
