Burning smell of Rubber

Ok Guys,
I was going to check to see if its the rear brake caliper sticking thats causing my 'Burning Rubber' smell in the morning, however, I was going to do this while on the centre stand and put it into first. (Advisable or not)
Given that these bikes do not like to be left running without moving, if you know what I mean.

Also, if it is the rear caliper thats sticking, does this mean a new caliper or can I dismantle it and clean in order to solve the problem.

thanks in anticipation of help.

as you say you have just become owner of the bike, maybe you have been riding the clutch without realising it???
or
have you checked free play on the clutch lever at handlebar...if not free play slight clutch slip and smell of burning...........

My head is now wrecked but also quietly happy. I have just been out for a run (stop start) and no smell from the bike at all. So fingers crossed.:thumb

Having said that the rear disc was extremely hot so that defo needs to be replaced anyway.

Hot disc

Sounds like the caliper is sticking on rather than the disc though this might have warped by now if it's been getting hot.
Dave ( I hate christmas ) GS with a cold

Surely if it was the caliper sticking, it would be worn all around but the disc is only worn in one place (about 5cm).

And sorry for calling you surely, Dave.:D
