Busa?

That must have been a 1440 variation as a friends 1st gen 1400 felt flat by comparison he had to have it remapped to give it the expected mid range grunt ,the busa was always the better .although the frame on the busa really got uncomfortably hot .
The initial "Gen1" (2006/7) bikes had very heavy throttle restrictions in lower gears, so much so mine had way less low down torque than the ZX9R I swapped it for! Many will have been remapped or had the secondary butterflies removed and remap or power commander.

From 2008 the Gen1's had the restrictions mostly lifted, but I beleive they (and the later Gen 2's) can all benefit a fair bit from a remap (like any modern Euro-screwed bike can)

I believe the Busa has always had a bottom end advantage over the Kawasaki, which has reduced as the Kawasaki morphed from Gen1 > Gen2, and apart from the very early "restricted" Gen1's will not dissapoint at any revs.

My understanding from guys who have owned both is the Kawasaki is more comfortable and better handling, with more leg room and higher bars - although most owners still tended to fit bar risers to the 1400.

For Sunday blasts both bikes are probably awesome, as long as you can live without your licence for extended periods, or never get it flat out in any gear higher than first.

This one already has the helibar risers (about 20mm) up and back a little but I will be fitting a 30mm yolk riser as well. pegs need lowering 25-40mm depending on clearance to exhaust. It reminds me a lot in riding position of my old FJ1100 which is no bad thing. Nice low CoG which is just as well!

I can agree on riding position on a FJ, I had 3 FJ1200's over time, last one was only 2 years ago.
The stretch to the handlebars was okay, but the feet on the pegs was the issue, made my legs bend too much. Lowering pegs was required, again going with Buell ones, modified to fit.

That looks a lovely machine (Busa), will you be changing the pea shooter exhausts? Some thing lighter perhaps, with bit more grunt from them. :D

Not for now unless I can't get my rear paddock stand to work with them (Oxford big black paddock stand 2.0). Buell pegs were a common fix on the busa, been looking for a set!

I bought my last set of Buell Ulysses pegs from ebay but a while back..Don't go for those ones with an adjustable step down, that also forces your feet further out, those are crap, and pain to get your feet onto the levers.
You most likely know ones like below are the best to go for, these on ebay are welded, skip these pair. But that style of pegs.

It's finding a pair, just got to be patient. Weren't they from the Buell XB 12R Firebolt?

The Buell Ulysses......are ones I bought.... even bought the rear ones by mistake, but the seller swapped them for rider ones for me......nice fella.
Dremelled out the pin holes to fit. easy job, and they felt right.

Just snagged a good used corbin comfort seat. That should have the same effect as lowering pegs an inch without lowering pegs.
