Advice needed. My Nuvi 765 will not power up. Yes it was peeing down when it was last used, but twas in waterproof holder - got a bit damp taking it in and out - not convinced this was the issue. I was however having problems with it turning itself off -loose ,waggly connection where the small 'ciggy' lighter goes into socket on top of my f800gs -real technical here! Maybe should have hardwired direct to battery? Anyway, anyone had experience of satnav repair companies? Any thoughts gratefully received.Ta.

I have a Zumo 550 which is about 4 years old, which has seen heavy use both on the bike and in the car. It would no longer power up in either mount so I contacted Garmin about a repair. They offered me a deal of returning the Zumo and paying £110 and they would send me a brand new unit.

Top service from Garmin- again. Had a Nuvi replaced out of warranty free of charge a few years ago.

Thanks for the tip mate. Just as I was getting to grips with it too. I'd like to stick with this model ~ desperately hoping it's something simple.Suppose it's back to maps, notes, compass and guesswork 'til I get it sorted. .... Surely someone's had dealings with other repair companies.

Ta so much for your thoughts. Contacted Garmin. They don't think it's the damp issue.I described the possible connection problem, and without even seeing it, decided to send a replacement.! As you said... top service. Yes it's in warranty , but no questions asked. It could easily have been my fault ie the connection. This one will be CANBUS connected!
Cheers again :beerjug: Omen, Oggie

I am glad it worked out for you, when I sent off my 550, they sent me out a 660 by return. Top marks to Garmin.
