There's always 'the next big thing' waiting round the corner...whether it's Vista or the next gen pentium or whatever.....if you're waiting for a pinnacle, you'll never get it...

Unless there's something that you know you need from the next thing, buy now and enjoy.

PS Do you mean Vista BTW.....there are already 64 bit processors and OS's

Is this all going to launch before year-end, and thus worth waiting for?

Very interesting!
At work, we still use W2k, and one reason for not moving to XP was the proximity of the next big thing. I think it is not that close, something that complex is going to take a lot of ironing out.
Will sit on fence for a little longer...
