Hello,
Going for my second 1200 GSA test ride this Friday, looking forward to it.
I will buy a new one , so negotiating will start after the test ride from Coopers at Tunbridge-Wells.

What I want as extra's put on the new GSA is:
Engine computer
heater grips
fog lights
top box ( still thinking on this one...so maybe)

Realistically what do you guys think I should be paying for a new GSA
on the road price for those extra's include.

I want a good deal ( does not everybody). I am not doing a trade in
( love my divi 900 too much) I already have the money sorted out
and in place.

Advise please on the best tactics I should use and what price.

Thanks

I shopped around at several dealers many of which would not do any discount off the bike whatsoever.
Your best bet is a large dealer whom have a larger allocation of new bikes to shift
I managed to get a £600 discount of a new GSA with premium pack fitted and full luggage
I also got a 15% discount off accessories which later they reneged on and only gave 10% and a free first service which they also tried to charge me for!

Deals are available but aren't easy and as one dealer said why do they need to discount when they can sell their allocation of GSA's by charging full price. The plus side of this is that it helps keep residual values high

I ordered my GSA on Monday (should pick it up tomorrow :bounce1) and my experience matched Big Nick's comments. I called the three dealers nearest me to get some ballpark figures for discounts - I was offered very little discount on the bike itself but 10-20% on the other kit I wanted.

Given that there was little in it I ended up at the dealer closest to me. They didn't have the spec I wanted in but got a bike for me from another dealer in 24 hrs, could have picked it up today if the insurance had arrived.

I thought the credit crunch might have resulted in more generous discounts, but alas not.

I was in a similar position to the OP in that I'd no trade-in and didn't want any finance.
