Hi All,
whilst searching on here the other day i found a comment from a fellow tosser who said that the Hein Gericke prices online in Germany were worth a look.
So i had been looking at a set of very expensive Master V goretex in the local store that where £499 the Jacket and £399 the trousers, yet online the Jacket is Eu499 and trousers Eu399 the pound to Eu conversion at the moment is apx 0.88 to the £. So thats a saving of £200 !
A saving whidh really can not be overlooked and i believe it free delivery but even at £20 - £30 postage it's still a massive saving.

So my question is, has anyone gone this route ? if so any pitfalls to be wary of ?

If you get in quick, HG are discounting the Master V, down to the price of the normal HG gear in Germany (stupid UK prices eh?).

I was about to purchase from Germany when the 20% kicked off.

I've also got a new (old) Master V jacket with ZIPs and no LockOut :-)

Living in Germany, I regularly buy goods Mail Order from the UK, Germany and occasionally the US. Within the EU, it is quite painless, no tax issues, etc. The only issue with clothing is of course the sizing, but you can check that locally in the UK.

Postage, as you point out, can be a problem, though I would have thought that it would not be a deal breaker.

Warranty.
Your German gear will not be covered by the UK warranty. You will have to post it back to Germany.

Not sure about this Joe, I bought a jacket and trousers from an HG shop in Germany, and then when a zip needed replacing I simply took it to my local(ish) HG shop in Aberdeen and they got it repaired under warranty.

As this was about 3 years ago it would still be worth checking.

Bought my Rukka Armas suit from Bikerland in Germany, very smooth transaction, they were very prompt at replying to emails and the suit arrived in 3 days. Saved a small fortune on uk prices.

Rukka will honour EU warranties, and I think all companies have to by law now.

On the German HG site the Master V jacket is 449 euros and trousers 349 euros still cheaper that the Uk site. Do you think that they would match this price?

Iam going to have a good go at persuading the manager of our local HG, thats for sure. Will keep you posted !
