Looking good , if that’s the right words for a ruin, in the sunshine.
Perfect day to be out on the bike. 240 mile round trip. Temps ranged from 20 degrees as we left Helmsley to 10 degrees and misty on the hills.

Did you go through Ampleforth or down Wass Bank off the A170? Lovely, nice quiet roads once you leave the main routes.

We stayed over night very near there a couple of weeks back. The Black Swan at Oldstead. Lovely area and I will need to have a closer look at Byland Abbey. A decent half day ride. 👍🏻

If you ever go back to the Black Swan Glenn, ask if they knew a chap by the name of Barry Hyndman. Barry was the Coxwold village Bobby, an Irishman held in high regard in those parts.

No we didn’t buy did stay off the main roads as much as possible.

Bit disappointed with the refurbed Aldwark Bridge- it doesn’t rattle like it used to.
