C. S. Lewis ....

I lie down among some rocks, watch a couple and a dog, scribble some ideas for poetry, pick my nose, and urinate behind a rock.

My knobs pissing stream-of-consciousness :)

I'll tell you all what it is...
As ive been searching for info on Mr C. S. Clancy (see me other post)
C. S. Lewis name would be coming as in the searches, so i got a bit side
tracked from Mr Clancy and started to checkout the price of the C. S. Lewis
books i have where going for at the moment...

I dont know if any of your have read "The Great Divorce" by Lewis it was
first published in Nov 1945, 5 years before "The Lion, the Witch and the
Wardrobe", anyway it covers the story of a bus ride from purgatory to heaven
its a great wee read...
So anyway one of the links that came was this...

Now right at the bottom of that link its say's....
It has been announced that Mpower Pictures and Beloved Pictures are currently working on a film adaptation of The Great Divorce. Stephen McEveety will lead the production team and author N. D. Wilson has been tapped to write the script.[1] A 2011 release is planned

Stephen McEveety produced The Passion of the Christ,
if this movie does get made the price of the little book will
shoot up, that is if you have a first edition and in good nick.
At the moment you can get a 1st edition for about £10
on abebook
So it might just be worthwhile getting a copy now before it does
kick off.
I am not selling my copy nor do I know anybody
that is I am just giving you all the heads up

But for a few quid it might be worth it and anyway its a cracking read
and it will be saver than investing in housing...:aidan
Will post a few foto's later of what to look for also check amazon
theres a few on there for £5

am pretty familiar with his writings and history. i used to give countless americans tours of his regular haunts in belfast and on the odd occasion when i could, of 'Little Lea' on Circular Road, where he spent the first years of his life prior to being shipped off to england. also spent quite a bit of time at Wheaton College in the US, where the Wade Centre is and the museum for most of Lewis' artefacts.

he was a man before his time, and as such didn't get much recognition by the church in ireland during his day, but philosophically and theologically, books like Fernseed and Elephants and the book you describe Joe, became seminal in the shift from modernity to postmodernity during the last 15 years.

maybe we should do a riding tour around Belfast. i'm sure the owners of Little Lea would love a motley bunch of bikers trapsing through their home.

Si thats not a bad idea...
Do you know what really pisses me off about Belfast...
Its the city centre, the tourist board should be selling
what great sons and daughters that have links to the
city instead they have a bloody big fish and are always
harping on about its bloody shopping centre...
C. S. statue is down at the arches and if you didnt know what to
look for you'd drive or even walk straight by....
And dont get me started on the Titanic quarter...
Belfast has a lot to be proud of and should be selling itself alot
better than it is...
Thats why I love Dublin no matter what corner you turn theres
something to look at and read about the great sons and daughters
the city...

God in the Dock and The Screwtape Letters are veritable masterpieces :thumb2
