My work will soon be recommending that I have these categories which I must finance myself, so if anyone on the site is an instructor or if you can recommend a good competitively priced instructor I would be very grateful:thumb2

Firstly check your licence. if you passed your car test before 1997 you will have C1 on it. As for D1, is it for hire or reward ?.
Also, if they "recommend" you have it to continue in your role, you need to recommend they pay for it if they are changing the vehicles they use in that role.

Think that (1997) only applied to UK licences.

Unfortunately it's not that simple, it would be considered un-skilling and that's always at your own cost. :(

I got a free c1 when I did my car test about 1981 but if you were entitled to one when you done the test you would have had to take it out at the time. Obviously you did not so you find that you need to do the test. I don't know anyone in the business but I urge you to do the full D. The reason I say that is that you must use a relitavely big bus for the D1 you can't do it in a transit size bus any more. I also suggest that your employer should help you with lessons. I know why you need one JJH and good luck
