So, after last doing it about 15+ years ago, I decided to have a bash at Teesside and North Yorkshire TRF Coast to Coast, this week on Weds/Thurs

Midweek was great as the Dales and Moors were virtually deserted

I chose to do it on a XR400R, a similar bike that I used to ride the Coast to Coasts back in the 1990's

Living in the area, I elected to ride to and from the start/finish each day

There were about 30+ bikes of all shapes and sizes, mainly big Trail bikes, but with a good number of sub 500cc trail/enduro bikes too

Start was at 8.30am at Hest Bank, Morecombe and it was a slightly grey, but dry ride via the Dales to Lancashire

Alternative view of Ribblehead Viaduct

Early morning...........Ingleborough, shrouded in low cloud

Filling up, in Ingleton............ I pressed on at 50mph, to meet everyone at Hest Bank

It was good to see familiar faces, meet new ones and ride again with old friends

We made our way over the lowlands of Lancashire, via Burton in Lonsdale and entered the Dales on it's far western flank, doing Masongill and then onto this lane near Deepdale - not often you see an ice cream van on a green lane

Getting closer to Hawes, we rode Dodd Fell

Spectacular views

After another lane, we stopped for lunch in Hawes and then up onto the Roman road to Bainbridge and then onto Marsett, where the meadowfields were abundant in wild flowers - glorious to see

A few more lanes towards Leyburn and then over into Swaledale, where I departed for home whilst everyone else headed for Scotch Corner

Day 2, dawned bright and sunny, for another 8.30am meet at Scotch Corner - we were in for a treat

The first lanes were near Barton and heading east towards Crathorne

Lovely white house,in a field of ripening wheat - under blue skies

Now onto the Cleveland hills

Graham on the big 640 KTM, coming up Bank Foot and heading closer to the NY Moors

Tim, on the 'Road of Stones' on Rudland Rigg

Good mates, who i've ridden with a few times, Lek, her husband Tim and Graham - enjoying lunch at Church Houses in Farndale

After a leisurely lunch we continued east into the Hackness and Troutsdale area, for some great leafy trails

Our intrepid run leader on the right, Scott - doing a sterling job of guiding us at a sensible pace, with Paul on the left from Devon TRF

Just to squeeze the pips a little and extract every last ounce of energy and stamina, Sott put in Mount Misery, a swine of a lane on wet bedrock

That big KTM is going up there

Finally a picture postcard finish, in Scarboro' in the north bay

400+ miles and 2 great days trailriding, my new bike performed a treat

Did you all do the same route? How did the big GSs get on?

I rode the trail & Enduro bike route (there were 2 groups in that category), plus a big bike category which rode a suitable route for them, missing some harder lanes, but adding in more of the easier lanes so the big bikes got a good amount of time off road

There were a decent amount of 1150/1200's doing it

Always sure to get a crack,n RR report from you JB :thumb2
