Cable tidy for auxiliary lights?

Hi folks,

I've got auxiliary lights on my 1150GS (mounted on the engine bars just forward of the cylinders) but the cables that run to them are just wrapped in black insulation tape.

I need to get to them if a bulb blows, so don't want to heat wrap them but was wondering if anyone knew of a sort of cable tidy solution, about 9" long

Ideally something that wraps around the cables, with a slit running its length that I can easily slip over and off the cable (I guess ideally like really thin/small foam pipe insulation - if it existed!)

Anyone got any thoughts?
 
why not heat wrap them... you won't want to wrap the entire length - obviously. I can't see why you need to get access to the full length of the cable just to change a bulb?

No you have me confused...

Why do you need the cable sheath to be weather proof? Better to have something which drains any (inevitable) moisture ingress easily.
 
Simple is Spiral type binding. Waterproof is heat shrink tubing. I have done mine in Heat shrink tube as it leaves the outside smooth and waterproof. :)

The excess cable that typically comes soldered to the bulb is too long to curl up inside the light casing itself, too short to reach all the way in and under the tank, so the connection between the bulb and the cable leading under the tank is a spade clip half way along the exposed length of the cable...

So its really something to sip over the 2 lengths of cable and the spade connection

I guess it doesn't need to be waterproof I guess, but it's only to sheath 2 thin wires some ideally something no more than 7-10mm wide - I think those cable tidies are pretty chunky
 
I should add that I could rewire the whole lot, but would still need access to the spade connection for when I need to change bulbs... without rewiring/soldering a longer wire to the bulb so the connection is under the tank, out of the weather every time I change the bulb.. but that requires effort. ;)

Yeah, that's a good idea, but I was ideally trying for something I could just easily pul off or put back on - just tuck the wires into it sort of thing - like pipe insulation foam.. but much smaller/thinner
