cafe racer 850-1100 R?

hi iam going to do a slight cafe project on my96 850r. Does anyone know the diamater of the the 96 headlight? The diamater of the end can clamp pipe? Who has done similar? Was thinking more guzzi w11 sport than classic cafe.
All tips etc appreciated

Sorry I was half asleep posting from the mobile. I love the look of the Guzzi v11 sport and would like to mimic same. The reason I would like to do it is, knowone does it. I cant find a single one on the web. Has anyone found a cafe style 1100r or 850r?

Does anyone offer a solo seat for the 1100 or 850?

You would be better off with an airhead. They can look rather nice cafed

Lol, thats the French blood within me, always do what others advise not to do....E.G Im a bit pig headed .....

Was thinking, a carbon can low slung, small fly screen like the 675 triumph, single seat cowl and loose as much unnecessary brackets as possible and if possible fit 1100 gs clamps and low bars.

I'm with you blanc. Sounds good and quirky and would surprise a few on the road.

Get rid of the plastic headlight/speedo/lights cowl too, leave the standard front seat and tank and hack off the back end!

I would still be selling the perfectly good BMW and buying something different but hey I look forward to seeing the results.
I can't think of a bike worst suited to making a Cafe Racer from.

Any idea how long before you start, are you going to blogg the job on here?

I'd fix your manky gearbox first before you get too carried away. .

Found a recon gearbox for 250 off a 2000 model with small mileage. Will fit that at the same time.

make sure it's the right box, the later (from 2000) 850 models are the same as the 1150 models. Different box, clutch, rear subframe swingarm etc etc.
