Morning all.
I'm heading across to Birmingham tomorrow by train with a mate of mine for our annual Christmas shopping trip.
This is our 1st time in Birmingham so we're flying blind.
Can you recommend a decent 'greasy spoon' somewhere near the main rail station please? A decent bacon, & egg & sausage & mushroom roll is a must before we start. :drool
We'll probably be having a mooch round The Bull Ring but would ideally like to find some interesting independant shops nearby - specifically a decent independant record shop & maybe somewhere that stocks die cast models.

Thanx in advance, :bow
Bill.

I think the Discery on Bromsgrove road is still going one of the best small record shops around.

If you want an "interesting" experience find your way to oasis . May not be your kind of thing but always worth a look around.

You could try Mr Egg, bottom of Hill Street, over the main road, onto Ladywell walk then on the corner on the left. I used to go there quite a lot when I lived in Brum.

Erm, thanx - I think. Are you trying to tell me something????????

Can I ask how long ago it is since you ate there?

2001 I think was the last time I ate in there. It used to be a good cheap cafe. There's another one on New Canal Street but that's probably a bit far away from the centre, again probably about 12-14 years since I ate there too.

Tim, perhaps you should ignore my posts on this subject, in hindsight.

Birmingham New Street station is all over the place at the moment so don't bet on coming out where you think you might! I'd guess there's a good chance you'll come out on the north side near New Street itself. In which case, turn left up New Street to Victoria Square and hang a left to THIS PLACE

I used to park my old C90 in Pinfold Street when I popped into town.
