I have a set of Civil's very sturdy Caha Sahel panniers, but find it a pain in the butt to remove them as they are bolted to the side racks.
I was thinking of getting touratech racks and a mounting kit, but wondered if anyone else had done this first?
The left pannier has the cut out for the exhaust, so what I want to know is whether it'll all fit ok?

look for posts by Rushy ;)

Did someone call me ?
.
.

Yep me and Pipster decided to do it so the panniers were easy to take off and also it might allow us to put the panniers on another Adv style bike in the future. So long as TT did the frames for our next bikes then the panniers should fit was the logic.

We did Pipsters first because mine got delayed 'cos I wanted the black ones. Phil came up with a really useful 'template' that he made out of a sheet of UPVC. He might still have it :thumb2

Read all about it :thumb2

Oh BTW mines an 1150 and Phil's is a 1200 . No probs either way.

Having followed the Rushy and Pipster school of fixing I can also atest it works brilliantly, only potential issue I see is the cut out for the exhaust which might conflict with positioning the pucks and the fact your going to look a bit lopsided with 2 10" inch panniers.

Which bike are you talking about?

Thank you every one...

but what I wanted to know was is it possible to mount the left pannier with the cut out for the exhaust on a TT rack with the cut out for the exhaust?

So it's the TT special rack and if Civils panniers you're trying to fit together? And Civils box isn't TT special shaped IYSWIM?

Mine are, sort of, my Cajas have a cut out in the left pannier for the exhaust.
So I was thinking, if I could mount it on a TT rack, I would have the easily detachability of the TTs with the ruggedness of the Cajas.
So what I wanted was someone with TT Special set so I could try my pannier up against their rack to see if it would fit or not.

Is there anyone fairly near to Derby with TT Specials?
