.....f "If I can do that with them I can go most places..." Started off adding about five minutes to the journey because I was being extra careful but as I get used to the fact the rear is the same width as the front I think it is actually making me ride better and I'm starting to see no difference in travel times. ..

Did you have BMW panniers before? I'm now off to double check tonight, but I'm pretty sure my "Civils" are 25mm narrower than the "BMWs" at their widest.... :) I put s/s nylocks on the back of the thread that sticks out of the pannier rail mount and that looks really neat, I also sourced some natty Abus padlocks Inox T84/30 (keyed alike) which come in shades to suit all. Add some velcro to the lock and pannier and they sit perfectly and don't rattle about... :)

Aye, but I didn't tend to ride with them on permanently - the bike gets parked up in London where there are scrotes with screwdrivers who want to see what you might have in a locked case. A padlocked metal box is (I hope) a little less appealing. I also found it difficult to get on and off easily with them in place - the widest part coincided with where I wanted to put my foot as I got on.

I did the same "nyloc nuts on the pannier frame screws" this weekend. I also replaced the two pillion footrest hanger with M8x30 s/s socket heads which leave a bit of thread for a nyloc nut on each of them. If they are taking some of the weight of the cases I feel they should be securely fixed. Since I was there I also put a couple of M8x25 s/s socket heads in the front socket hangers (where the original front system case rail nut was). I found the original dome head nuts a little "soft".

Where did you get the Abus padlocks from? I have a set of brass "Master" locks which were cheap from the local Homebase but I am less than confident about their weather resistance. Since they are on all the time I should take care - I had to cut an "all weather" padlock off the chain securing my ladder this weekend.

Those silver ones look great :thumb

Your product is getting better and better. I'm beginning to regret I ordered the Zega cases last year.

I'm also interested in how they will fit the 1200GS. And new Adventure also! (I'm planning to order an Adventure around this time next year and I'm thinking of ordering them without the standard cases.)

Is there any word on the quick release fitting that that is under development?
Give the man a chance... hes trying to sell waterproof shopping bags to Granny's at the moment :D

no sign of the panniers with quick release for the 1200 yet, thought they were suppose to be out before christmas, going to have to go for touratech or metelmule which is best, would have prefered the cajas

There was a photo of them on here before Xmas but I don't where its gone. They were using Jesse mounting brackets. Jesse have the best mounting sytem of any for quick release with solid mounting - seems like a good combination.
