I'm already planning a 2014 or 2015 tour (depending on funds) which will either be a loop out of Denver or, better still, a ride from SF to Denver taking in the Canadian Rockies and Yellowstone. The main downside to Denver is the limited rental bike choice.

I planned the route and booked the hotels myself, using Sport-touring.net, Pashnit.com and Tripadvisor etc. for guidance. The only bit I would have changed was the Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree/Mojave Desert section. In retrospect, I'd probably have spent the night near Vegas instead (Henderson etc)

Well it looks like it was well organised with a lot of planning. Well done!
Last year we went via HC Travel doing the wild west tour, pretty much 80 % of what you covered. However we felt we did not stay long enough ( in some places), so we are now thinking and evaluating a self guided tour with califiona riders.

I've organised a few foreign trips for friends from the VFR Club in the past and a lot of rideouts, so I've had plenty of practice

The only difficult part of the US trip was cramming all we wanted to see into 17 days, which is why we're planning on returning in 2014
