Those that know me...also know I have a few bikes including a s/h GS!! I bought a nice new Honda CBR954RR2 Fireblade as a Christmas present to myself. Excelland bike ( but the fitted Honda 'road salt' sensor stops the bike from being started with all the salt on the road - it's also called Jap alloy!!).

Anyway, I digress ..............the reason for my posting is that Honda UK 'phoned me and the reason for the call was to answer a few questions as he told me customer satisfaction was their top priority (besides profit no doubt!!).

He asked me if I was satisfied with the dealer; did he offer me refreshments; when the first service was done - was he punctual and was the bike returned clean; how was the attitude and manners of the staff, was the shop presented with accessories and clothing etc etc

Anyway, the cruix of this epistle is to ask you guys......Do BMW do this with their customers..as I seem to feel more negative than positive vibes from owners?

Just asking:)

My bike's three years old now, but I certainly remember getting calls from a company representing BMW GB to see if the dealer support was good enough.

Yep. BMW called me about 6 weeks after I took delivery of my bike, went through a thorough list of Customer Satisfaction questions. I had some problems at the time - crashbars hadn't arrived and there was no estimate on when my large tank would arrive (bike was a cancelled order, which arrived with std tank). They chased up BMW GB, who sorted the matter out shortly thereafter.

Same here ... can't fault Rydale BMW Cardiff either. Always get I coffee when i call in, even if its just for a natter etc.

:)

yea they have called me three times in the space of 15months, the last time was just as i'd walked in from the garage with a broken brake bleed nipple that had corroded into the calpier body- worst call he had made that day!!

Yup - had a call from BMW post SPC purchase. SPC have donuts, cookies and coffee as everyone in the South knows.

I enjoyed a couple of tarts too last time I was there, compliments of the management..... hmmm Bakewell I think they were and my coffee (self dispensed) was delivered in a Burbidge's Bakery mug - scandalous advertising me thinks!!!! ;) Though BMW are hardly likely to ring me up - doubt they'd even know what an R100GS is :(

Brought my GS11 new in 99 and never had a call from WBM once. Had it dealer serviced until the warentee ran out and havent been back since.

I have had varios BM's from different dealers and a couple of Honda's but the difference I notice is that when I go into my BM dealer, rainbow, everyone knows your name and says hello. Coffee is provided but any donations are welcomed and are given to charity. I think that Shaun has eaten all the buns though as he now looks like me!!

The honda dealer, once having sold me the blackbird just didn't want to know and mates using other Honda dealers in the region have said the same.

At present I am shopping for a scooter, 2 x 125's and 2 x 500's and it's as though i am putting them out as they have to get prices/availability etc which is hard work and results in no call back etc.

I have considered BM 600 's but the price is too high for training school bikes but at least the 125 's would mean that I don't have to provide rain suits!!!!!!!!

So they weren't ringing up to ask you to either return the bike or pay for it were they ? :D
