Phil..................................Do you know the racer in the Who is It picture????????????

Looks like Stephen Carr aka Cargo. Remember him from years ago when he had a 750 four which was a bit like a ratbike.......

Aye I think It's Cargo again Noodles

Ye'd find it hard to miss those curly locks and grin hangin out of a helmet LOL

I remember Cargo at Metropole at the NW200 many years ago, he fell from the advertising hoarding and was promptly arrested for Simple Drunk.......he pleaded with the police to change it to Intelligently Drunk much to the amusement of the rest of us spectators:aidan

That's Ronnie Mc Allister. As far as I remember Cargo used to spanner for him and Ronnie got him into the racing (which I think explains the black leathers and white helmet as well). That's me in the photo behind Cargo with the red and yellow levvers and the No 1 Honda.:thumb2

Ronnie was a good rider - could do the roads and the short circuits equally as well. They were all good crack to be around...good photos!

Goin grand Jay. Final report is with DOE so they will be havin' a look and probably be releasing the report over the next few weeks or so. Not sure yet what their plans are to put it out into the public, but I think as a result there will be increased engagement of bikers to the new NI Road Safety Strategy which can only be a good thing.

Thanks for your input and for everyone else who contirbuted through the site as well!

My gosh could this thread be my 15 minutes of fame

Yes thats me on the 57 bike and yes it's Ronnie on the 750 Kawasaki
That 750 was the first bike I ever raced it was at Nutts Corner.
Then I bought that 600 sprayed it black with some aerosols before that first year was out I'd done my first two road races.
Still racing 14 years later.

The hair is mostly gone now but I've got a mohawk just now.

Great pictures and happy happy days

Anymore ? ?

You must know me well to be aware of the simple drunk NW 200 that was 1981

Would that be the same Guy who after dodging the police man on the top of the advertising Board,Did a backwards roll off the top of said board to a huge cheer from the crowd. And during the break between the races a Streaker got chased up and down for about 10 minutes across the road before the houses were built on the opposite side of the road.If it was i was there that day it was a laugh.Francis

Got a ZRX 1100 now and great fun it is too.
I'm clicked on Janets FB and I've seen the pictures...................very horrible

I think it's worth pointing out that I never fell off the hoarding thingy and to this day I think the cops lifted me to set an example and warn everyone on thar banking to behave LOL. He was an inspector. They let me out in time to see the last race AND they returned my carry out.

I had my day in court and got a bollocking off the judge I can quote him word for word

"its thanks to hooligans like you that decent people cant take their families to Portrush"

then he fined me £15 :)

another guy in the same court was also up for simple drunk he got caught 3 times on the one weekend.............they fined him £15 for each but he didn't get the bollocking I got
