Calling Vario pannier owners

I still cannot see what adding a piece of plastic does for the pannier?

I assume this is just adding a false bottom, but cannot see the point, unless your into smuggling, or is it just to keep stuff seperated?

Behind my stash panel is my spare bulb kit, my first aid kit and when I go away it's where I put my wallet with my docs and emergency £20.

Yes, it's an ideal place to stash elicit substances. I keep a couple of packets of Murry Mints and Werbers Originals behind mine:augie

Perhaps I need to see one in with my own eyes.

Are you guys refering to blanking off the odd shaped bottom part?

The original post implied reclaiming unused space, but I cant see how this provides more space, or reclaims space that cannot be used?

Oh well, plenty of other stuff on E-Bay to buy and fit for now :)

Look at the Pictures

Hi Rasher if you look at the pictures on the thread they will hopefully enable you to understand what the panel does.

Nope!

All I see is a picture of a standard pannier, a picture of a piece of plastic and a picture of some gloves.

mymy

Well as the saying goes a picture paints a thousand words so if its still not clear I will have to shut the feck up.

Rasher,
This is how I read it. What it means is that if you use an inner bag this space is not used as the inner bag does not expand into it. If you have this insert then you can put stuff behind it and it will not fall out when you remove the inner bag... cannot be certain as I don't get my new r1200gs until 30th this month .... :drool

Cheers, I see now.

I never use inner bags, I always put my stuff in them roll-up vacuum bags as they allow you to shrink your clothes down to about half original size, this also ensures everything is waterproof.

I tend to use paniers like suitcases and take them into hotels.

Does this stash panel screw in?

In an earlier message it says to turn two knobs to secure,as I mentioned I don't have the bike or panniers for another 9 very long days and counting..

I may be tempted if I can think of a reason to use them without having the bags...

Hello Poo,

Just updating my request for information regarding the purchase of a stash panel. Can you please post or PM details of how to obtain/pay for on of your stash panels for a R1200gs? You do not seem to be contactable by PM for some reason.
Alan R
Poo,

I understand the responses to Rasher regarding the benefits of your panel. As one of a number of people who are convinced, is there any chance of buying one from you? I've been trying for some weeks with little sucess.

Hi poo,
I did not note this long thread before now. Excellent idea as it seems. I'd very much like to have one your panels. Would you be prepared to ship one to Norway?
In that case please let me know the total price (panel +shipment) and I'll paypal it straight away.

Thanks in advance.
