Cam sensors on 2013 GS1200 LC

I'm replacing the cam sensors on my 2013 GS1200 LC. Where's recommended to buy the 911 diagnostic, what are the other parts I need to operate it?
After a quote of £500 at the approved agent I'd rather do it myself as I do all the servicing anyway. I've never done the computerised side so any help would be appreciated

but i dont believe you need the GS911 to replace cam sensors, there just a bolt / plug in part

The bikes in limp mode with engine warning lights on. After watching some tutorials it looked like I needed one. Would it clear limp mode and just store it on the log? My last GS didn't have much electronics on it.

You can look at the motoscan route, may be cheaper, but ive only ever used the HEXezcan, so cant say otherwise

Thanks for the reply. I noticed on a short ride out that the right cylinder was pinking. Next ride out it it was slow starting, the warning lights came up as I set off then it went into limp mode and ran like a bag of nails. Took it to a dealer for a diagnostic which came back as cam sensor right cylinder failure and a bad signal on the left. It's a 2013 LC that's done 30,000 miles. We also have an R nine T so the GS911 might come in handy for that too. The quote from the dealer was a bit of a shock TBH. We bought the bike 2 weeks ago and it has BMW service history. Not a good start I know. Done more research thanks to your recommendation and looking at a HEX

Did the bike not come with a warranty ?

You can have the extended warranty added via a main dealer, it will cost a service & whatever needs doing to get it back to a start mileage

From there on in, assuming its not got a full service history, its £450 odd per year with a £100 excess for each claim

If it's definitely a cam position sensor I thought there was only one under the left cylinder? I got mine from eBay and they're used in many BMW's so I went the copy route for £10.68. done 4-500 miles so far no issues. P/n13627546660. Plug and play. I do have motoscan to read the codes.

hi asifmo:, yes I can now confirm there is only one......the dealer who did the diagnostic showed us the diagnostic showing weak/intermittent signal left cylinder and believe it or not "r/h cylinder sensor showing no signal"........ ordered a pair from Autodoc and a GS911 basic usb, not quite as cheap as you found but £14 odd each (x2 obviously) wish I had looked first, just about to replace the thing, I will run the 911 first to see what it says regards fault codes etc......many thanks for the comments (PS PPIPE is my mrs....with an RnineT)

i am in the isle of man for the tt for a few days ,if for some reason you need anything plugging in i have the motoscan,give me a shout if needed and i will pack my obd reader
but as said it would appear you wont need a reader.
