2. Yes. A group of us do annual off road trips 'further afield'
3. The last one! Cambodia was great. Argentina is also a great place once you get away from BA
Hi and thanks Zorro. Long-haul destinations are awesome aren't they? And I love hearing from anyone that's ridden Cambodia, no-one is ever failed to be impressed by the place. Great stuff.
Argentina - is it mainly rocky off road?
Cuttingto the chase if youre organising a trip or testing the water how much is it
Hi all, first post on this forum, so bear with me. I want to ask a general question to all you GS adventure bikers out there. Well 3 actually. And I hope you all answer as honestly as possible. We'd love to know how up for a challenge you GS riders really are!
1. Do any of you regularly read Adventure Bike Rider magazine? If NO, have you ever heard of it?
2. I know you all love organising your own tours on your own bikes for non long-haul destinations BUT would you ever consider an organised dirt bike tour further afield (long-haul) on a bike that isn't a GS? (Don't scream obscenities at me please!).
3. What's the best trip you ever rode on based on the friendliness of the people/cultures you encountered?
Looking forward to your answers gents (and ladies). Please answer all 3 in your posts, not just 1 or 2.
Arcun cheran! (Thank-you, very much).

Hi Gossy, don't want to advertise on here, but DO WANT feedback about what you guys read, what you'd be willing to ride, and where you've all ridden.
That said, I have PMd you the details you requested, lol.
Mr Red Leader, would also appreciate that PM. Cheers![]()

Ok 1. yes I do

3. Best Biking in the world is Cambodia
I have been going there since 2009 and the changes are amazing . A lot of road construction , some routes that would have taken all day can now be done in half that time . Great Jungle trails , graded roads and some very technical bits if you really want . Great food and People . Hotels and guest Houses were all good ,sleeping in the Jungle awesome !!
The Himalayas are pretty amazing but the altitude got me sleeping at 4500m , something you wont get in Cambodia .Good luck

2. Absolutely, as long as I can touch the ground
3. All my trips have encountered friendly people
Best biking trip beyond the "norm" was hiring a bike in Thailand with my daughter as pillion (whilst backpacking on our own). It was very easy to hire a bike (& cheap), the roads were great (tarmac only) & I even enjoyed riding in the crazy town traffic!
Unsure about Cambodia. After Thailand we went into Laos then Cambodia. I got very sick at Angkor Wat which lasted several days & perhaps skewed my outlook but I concluded there were better countries to visit....
Can you convince me otherwise?
