I've used the Guard Concept and a knock-off and both work well from the vibration viewpoint with my GoPro 6. On a previous bike I had used the Ram system to mount a GoPro 3 and there was always a wavy picture at high revs.

I use the real wunderlich guard concept, chinese one is just as good imho, and a good metal case for the Gopro 6 no vibrations or dodgy images at all, maybe if some are using the plastic gopro mounts etc, that might be why it is not as solid as all metal setup.
I think the multiple attachment points as per the Guard Concept is what really helps with eliminating the vibes. The other single point of contact mounts all suffer from camera-on-the-end-of-a-stick syndrome, which will always have some vibe issues once a bit of resonance occurs.

I made this up using a threaded bolt and several nuts and washers. Works well and no vibration.
The mount is normally up, not hanging down as in the pic.

I have made pretty much the same thing but with the camera mount on the top. Used a pan head bolt (just because the head is smaller and neater) and used some black wire heat shrink tube on the exposed bolt thread.
I've been using it for around 2 year. I know what you mean about wavy imaging as that's what I was trying to avoid and was my experience with mounting on thin angles & plates...... It's solid as a rock.
Exactly that, this is why I use this case below, with the guard concept bracket, it is rock solid and has a little lanyard also, no problems with it at all, obviously with Gopro6 being waterproof already.
I had a GoPro separate from my lid a good few moons ago. Was using the suction cup mount at the time. Mates behind me had great fun avoiding it on its travels down the road! Recovered the camera, mount and case, but unfortunately there was no sign of the SD card. Sent pics of the broken camera to GoPro and they gave me 50% off a new camera along with two free mounts of my choice. Oh, and a recommendation not to use the suction cup mount on a lid!
