Great campsite near Keswick that allows camp fires and pyromaniacs on GS's :augie which is only a 10 minute walk from a cracking pub.....

Nice loop on Saturday up there (road only), leaving 9-9:30am from haydock island, and whatever Sunday brings depending on hangover severity :D

All welcome, who's up for it? d....:thumb

Had I a kit small enough to fit on the bike I'd be there... but I've not got round to bike based camping equipment yet :(

Will definitely be making it to the pub this month though! :beerjug:

I'm interested. I need to test my tent ahead of a euro-tour, but I'd have to get a pass from the missus (which is unlikely tbh, as she's annoyed about the tour..).

Where are you setting off from?

Steve, i would really be up for this but i am stuck in lanzarote, what a barstool. thomson arte paying for me to stay 5 star AI so i hope it goes on for a while longer. enjoy your camp mate and ill try and get on your next one, for now i just have to sit and wait in the bar. lifes a bitch :D

Spoke with doc savage, man of bronze.....he had a good idea to have a slap up barbeque on Saturday evening at the campsite and then go'n get lashed!!!!

Planning to get a couple of disposable BBQ's from the supermarket. We could either take bangers and stuff to cook with us, or stop at a supermarket in Keswick before we got to the campsite....What says you?

So, is the site at Braithwaite?

Still not sure if I can make it - I'm sure you're gutted.. :augie

Sure is, but it's not Scotgate....cos we're a bit banned from there:augie

It's on a farmers field, Lanefoot Farm I think. Top campground. Amenaties are a bit naff, but you are allowed campfires :D:D

Amenities are a bit naff are they? Have you got somewhere to go for a morning constitutional? Can you get some water to make a brew? Anything else is not required when you intend having a b-b-q and strolling off to a pub.

Would I like to come... possibly. Will I come... no, as I've a few jobs to get done sooner rather than later.

I will be up for it if i get the bike back on time its going to s/s for a fuel gauge problem, I might have to bring the boss she has never been on a bike before so i can probably talk her out of it i could meet up there if i am late you can leave a paper trail to the pub
:beerjug:

if they do a BBQ make sure you move your gear well back because it'll get singed :augie

Steve can you send me the nav file when you get around to it ! :thumb

Oi!! FOX!! Are you coming? .......One last blast before your bike goes back....

fraid not. The bike has been stripped off its farkles and luggage carrying capacity. In stock form you could barely carry your wallet on an F800GS never mind a tent and sleeping bag.

The last blast was had returning the bike home last week.

lakes trip

Due to a bit of luck(mates got food poisoning) i am now free for the weekend:beer: see you at haydock:thumb
