I am looking at going to the Tank Museum at Bovington sometime with friends/wives from work and maybe camp over for a night.
Does anybody know of or had any experience of camp sites near there?
Looking for somewhere with water, shower, toilets and pub nearby (walking & staggering distance!).
I have done a quick search on the net and most come up with the larger camp/holiday sites but will do a more thorough check as well.

Thanks in advance.

Durdle Door is a possibility but a longish wobble home uphill from the pub (a mile?). There's another site at Moreton (google it) with a pub quite near, at the railway station but it's a big site and fairly well equipped/organised. They do have a couple of chalets to rent though if it's wet!

Cheers for the replies. Will look at the 'smaller' camp sites once they have opened for the season.
I know there is loads on info on here about Lawrance etc so will look this up nearer the time. Main plan is to go to the tank museum and a couple of nights camping. Never been camping with the bike so far so just want to test the water. Main concern is having clothing as it always rains when I go away!

I would really recommend the place we stayed at - it is very small and quiet (mainly long term caravans) and has clean showers and toilets. The reception area sells some basic provisions and the owners are very nice. The pub which is within waling distance does average food but is perfectly acceptable.
