Heading to Nice soon and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good campsite or a decent BnB near Reims, thanks in advance Steeevo

Reims is a lovely city worthy of the extra euros to stay in the city centre so you can access the facilities and view the architecture.

Some recommendations here

If you just want a cheap bed for the night then there are a number of motel type places on the outskirts such as the Premiere Class at Taissy

Just noticed your post Steve so probably too late for your trip but for the future we can reccomend Les Telliers Bed and Breakfast. Located in a quiet back street a couple of blocks from the main drag with bars and eateries. Excellent quality accomodation, would probably suit a couple (wife or partner) more than two mates, garage just across the street. Priced at the upper end of B and B but good value for the location. A two night stay reccomended.

that looks okay - they have a twin room for those not wanting the intimacy of a double.

Any recommendations for camping in or around Reims?

Probably the best guide is the Michelin campsite book.

Drop into a local Waterstones (shops that passed completely untouched in the recent misunderstandings between yoof and society) and you'll find one. I also posted up a thread on a book about the quirky campsites of France, which may have something.

Great. Every one else on here seems to qualify for free advice.

You want me to spend money :(

It's free to look in Waterstone's :augie If the books are on too high a shelf, take a step ladder :D

I sometimes wander into the City of London library, find the book and pay 20p for a couple of pages of photocopies.

These look OK: http://www.reims-tourism.com/reims-champagne/accommodation-and-restaurants/campsites.aspx

This one seems to be free but I guess only suitable for the wobblybox brigade and it's bloody close to the motorway.....

Not a bad location - very close to 3 of the hotels I've recommended in the past - just across the motorway & canal.

Conveniently close to http://www.lanson.fr/site.php?lng=uk in Rue de Courlancy - you need to phone/email to prebook a place on a tour as the number of English language ones are limited.
