I’ve never really bothered with them and relied on shoving clothes into my sleeping bag stuff sac but now I’m getting older I thought I’d go for broke.

I’ve only tried it on the sofa at home but a Thermarest Air Head Down Pillow seems very comfortable.

It’s a bit of an expensive way to get a slightly better nights sleep because I went for the large version and bought one for my wife as well because she’d only complain if I didn’t :blast

I have the older version of this. It’s really warm on your face because the down topping ( which is in a separate pocket to the air bit) stays toasty. The older version has the down going across the top and down one long side so your neck stays warm too. It’s also designed to fit in the hood of your sleeping bag so it doesn’t disappear in the night.

Oh, found it. https://www.alpinetrek.co.uk/sea-to-summit-aeros-down-pillow-pillow/

What swung it for me with the Thermarest pillow was the pack size with it only slightly bigger than tea mug, the standard size is probably the same size as said tea mug but I wanted the large one. It’s claimed to fit inside the hood of a sleeping bag but I can’t be arsed to try it yet.

We do have some down camping pillows which compress quite well but because they don’t rely on a bit of lung power to top them up the pack size is larger and the usable size is smaller so I never too one away on bike trips.

I’m just an impulse buyer, I admit it :D

I've always "Made do" when camping for a pillow. However, This is a gamechanger. I initially thought it to be a gimmick. But Wow! I love it. And packs away the same size as a satsuma

This one for me. I find it very comfortable. Great pack size and low weight.
I do like Sea 2 Summit stuff.

The picture I had was of a S2S towel so I deleted that…this one

There’s really no price on a good nights sleep when camping.

Not ever needed to buya pillow thing myself, but I do use my sheepskin bike seat cover rolled up. Tis very comfy in all but the warmest conditions.

I also use an Exped downmat which comes with a Schnozzel bag to inflate it. App you can fill it with clothes and use it as a pillow.

I just bought a cheap pillow of Amazon, been using it for years now it packs down tiny and i just keep it in the same bag as the sleeping bag.

Size isn’t everything. :D

Excellent choice though. :thumb2

They are very warm and comfy.

It would be interesting to hear if it fits in the hood of your sleeping bag.

Thanks Udders. Will let you know. But I could do with a better sleeping bag, since mine is about 18 years old and is a budget karimor one. Must say I never through of tucking it into the hood, must try.

It definitely stops it disappearing in the night.
