dont store the burner or fuel in the cooking pots as it will taint what ever your cooking
I used Trangias for 10 years in the armed forces. Safe and simple to use. So neat to pack away and very reliable, nothing to go wrong.
I have used a size 27 for nearly 20 years now, mine now consists of a non stick frying pan a kettle and two saucepans. Just the right size for two people.
The meths goes in a Sig fuel bottle - never had a leak The litre bottle lasts two people two weeks. As other have said put a dash of water in to stop the pans sooting up underneath.
I carry a second handle for ggreater ease of use and spare 'O' ring for the burner.
The heat output is controlled in two stages by using the supplied 'simmer' / extinguisher' ring.
The burner should always be stored in the supplied yellow bag - I still have my bag after 20 years use. The bag protects the alloy pans from the brass burner.
Trangia now sell a 'multiplate' - fantastic little extra that protects the non-stick pan in transit and serves as a way of draining water from the pan, a stand for soft ground and a cutting board.
I keep a film can with washing up liquid and a scotchbright scourer in a little bag stored in the trangia for washing up.
They are easier to light with a match - I have a robust match holder stored in the trangia.
I have an old Ortlieb flexible washing up bowl which is the same size as the Trangia 27 - the Trangia sits in it real nice which stops the trangia from rubbing on anything and marking it.
In the US meths is called Sterno.
