Hi, I'm looking at going to this again this year after a great trip last year!

Brief intinery of trip -

Depart Folkestone on the train approx 01.00 on Thursday 2/7/2015 riding down through France using the motorways towards Strasbourg and then across into Germany up past Baden Baden across to ULM and down to Garmisch.

Planning to arrive around 16.00 local time on Thursday 2/7/2015 at BMW Motorad days in Garmisch.

Pitch tent at onsite camping facilities for 3 nights (Approx 7.50 Euros)!! Shower and then well deserved beers!!

Depart Garmisch on Sunday morning 5/7/2015 at approx 10.00 for return to UK back via Germany/Belgium/France staying overnight in a budget hotel approx half way on Sunday evening with a departure on Monday morning 6/7/2015 back to Calais.

Its a long way in a few days I know - plan to ride at 80MPH on the motorways (slowest 70MPH).

Looking ideally for 2 more riding companions MAX. or meet you down there for beers???

If interested please PM me??

Regards

Hi

Have done both options on the way down to Garmisch and the red eye run on the Thurs was fun but knackering. For me it was about 750 miles in total. :D

The Wednesday option is better and would suggest maybe staying in Strasbourg in an F1 or similar and then picking a nice route through the Black Forest using Michelin map green route. B500 south of Baden Baden is popular but lots of other great roads.

May be able to join you if I can get some time off work. :thumb2

hi mate i am going ,and meeting a few mates down there , i am leaving newcastle on the ferry and get into amsterdam on the thurs 2nd ,going straight down in one hit i think and will get there about ten hours later ,its almost 700 miles i think ( i will be knacked).and then i have got to put a bloody tent up.
i know i am not going anywhere near you on route ,but best of luck ,may bump into you down there.
on the other hand if anyone is on my ferry it would be good to ride down with someone
all the best ian

Am getting a Tunnel at 1130pm on the Thursday night as can only get Friday to Monday off work. Will ride down direct to Garmisch (with a few stops etc it should be getting daylight by 4am :D) and aim to arrive there about 4pm. Am meeting up with Jetstar for a few beers and we are planning to leave for home on a more scenic route on the Sunday with Tunnel booked for Monday evening. PM if you want to exchange mobile numbers and join us for a few beers. :thumb2

Had planned to do a round trip to Garmisch via spain and alps but just realised that its a long slog to get there in the time I have available so now going anti clockwise, looking to catch ferry from either Dover on the Monday eve(depends on work) or Hull same. Solo run and camping but happy to meet up for the odd drink, if you spot the tosser with zebra stripes on his bike give me a shout, buckit or tosser you choose :bounce1
