Camp site

You could try the Meelmore Lodge, just outside Newcastle, Co Down. Very scenic route to get there. Good facilities, reasonable onsite cafe with OUTSTANDING views of the Mourne Mountains...No pub nerby so could bring your own

Havent stayed here myself but would use it as a coffee stop and it is always busy. Popular with other bikers

There's a smashin little campsite in glengarriff co. Cork... Bar onsite that stays open late and a short cab ride to town for variety and grub etc.

Otherwise The Hideaway in Skibereen is good, much bigger but grand and easy walk into Skibbereen for all the entertainment you need.

Great roads all around west cork as well.

IF YOU ARE FLUSH

Eagle Point, Ballylickey, €27 a night, that's what it cost a few years back, who knows now?

Redcross campsite in Wicklow just of the M11 near Brittas Beach, plenty of scenery, Rathdrum, Vale of Avoca, Glendalough etc, 5 star facilitys & a camping part with NO kids/dogs allowed , nice little pub/restaraunt on site, 12 euro

+1 another dandy site.... You can literally home in the evening after several :beer::beer:

I was thinking of something similar yet very different...??

I was going to ask if anyone had any ideas for a camping spot in the wild. No facilities except maybe a nearby stream and preferably without a tarred road to the spot.

I just fancy at least one night completely detached from everything.
