As far as I'm aware there are 3 campsites in and around Salamanca - any recommendations?
Cheers

My only experience was back in 2005. I stayed two nights in a site just to the NE (but I can't find the name of the place right now).

At that time the place was fairly shabby. It was cheap, handy for Salamanca and there was a cafe-restaurant on the road outside that did a nice Platos Combinados.

Pitches were sandy soil among trees.

Toilets and showers were very basic.

The site itself was quiet (mainly due to the time of year) but the road was busy, the local dogs were barking all night (but that seems par for the course in Spain).

Camping Regio, just on the outskirts , good little site with a bar/ snackbar , good bogs and showers an theres a hotel connected to the site and you get a discount in the resturaunt plus use of the pools. :thumb
ps also its on the same road as the BMW dealer incase you need owt.

Thanks chaps.
I was recommended camping Regio by someone else so will probably go for that one. How handy is it for the city on public transport? - we intend to hit the tapas bars :beerjug:

Theres a bus stop directly outside the site. Its not that far into town but it does go round the houses 20 mins tops. When are you travelling , we should be in Salamanca towards the end of next week.

Thanks Scotty. We're leaving on the 2nd August and trolling down through western France and along the Spanish atlantic coast then cutting down through the north east corner of Portugal and onto Salamanca so should be there around 11th August if your still around.
