Hi Guys, I'm looking for any reccomendations you might have for campsites on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees. We don't need swimming pools etc, just a well run site, clean showers and loos and not noisy at night. Also, same thing for an overnight in the Picos prior to catching our ferry. Cheers!

Picos

La Isla De Picos, a cracking little site just outside Potes and about 65 miles from Santander. N43:08 .999 W04:41.998. I will be calling off there again in July:thumb2

Another vote for La Isla De Picos, stayed for a few nights in April this year. Nice little site with a shop and bar restaurant on site, good food an not expencive. oh, an they speak some english. very clean when i stayed. Have fun.

i've camped here for a few nights. it was pretty good.

handy for vielha and some of the best bike roads i've ever ridden. decent washrooms, receptionist spoke great english (not that common), and free wi-fi.

more guff and pics here

We stayed on a couple of good sites on the two HUMM meetings we did.
Cant remember the site names but one was at Llavorsi...about 20 miles West of Andorra...next to a river, handy for the town...near a Hotel.
The other one was at Quexians...near to Puigcerda...site facilities were spot on but no bar!

Thanks

Thanks for your tips guys. I've just got back from my trip, and stopped at Cookie's suggested site, Camping Verneda near Vielha. Didn't camp, though, the weather forecast was poor for the duration of our stay so we hired one of their little pine bungalows for 70Euros a night. Very comfy, and a good decision as we had a couple of good overnight storms.
Didn't manage to stay long enough in the Picos, just a quick run to Potes before going to catch a ferry at Gijon to St. Nazaire. I can highly recomend this ferry. It was cheap, great cabin, food on board not too bad and bar not overcrowded as many travellers were Spanish who apparently hate spending money!
Northern Spain definately better than the holiday Costas, great biking roads, I'll be back there again one day.:)
