Campsites in the Alps.

The nights are drawing in, so I am starting to think about a trip to the alps to coincide with the BMW rally in Garmish. I only want to do Garmish as a day trip. So what I am looking for is a bike friendly campsite about 3 hours drive away to use as a base for 5/6 days to explore the area.

A few good restaurants nearby and good scenery at the site would be an advantage.

Any recommendations?

Garmisch: 3 hours drive away from which direction?
We stayed just up the road in Grainau & before that we stayed in Nancy.

As for nearby restaurants, no problems there at all.

Thanks for the links,

Firefox, MapSource and Google Earth currently fired up looking for a place to camp.

The 3 hours drive is in any direction, I have only been to Garmish before so everywhere will be new to me.
