Albeit next year it is Iberia and up through France to Cherbourg for my long summer tour, I want to get an idea of campsites in the Czech Republic and Poland for 2028 that people have come across. I may go as far as their eastern borders.
Any pointers out there?

Individuals' experiences being so subjective, and since you have plenty of time on your hands to departure, how about planning your route then seeing which campsites are close enough?
Pick a few then using GE or other, have a look to see and choose those you like?
There seem to be loads
CZ =1140 &
Poland = 1783 at last scrape
Plenty to get busy with these dark evenings.

That’s Chat GPT’s response to a request of:

Chat GPT...🙄
4 campsite suggestions per country... How useful - not!
Come on Wappers.
Horse before the cart and all that jazz!
Which raises the question:

What is more important?

1) To find a lovely campsite and travel there to experience it?
Or
2) To decide which places you wish to visit THEN to pick the best camp of your choice closest to them?

Assuming it is (2), plan your route, work out average timings then pick somewhere to stay.
It is worth remembering that plans are great but take little to changed.

We’ve been to both Poland and Czechia a couple of times (last there 2018 though). Never had a problem finding campsites, except once on what turned out to be a holiday weekend in Poland. No pitches left but did have a lodge thing, so had that. Very nice.

In Czechia we stayed at the Skoda owners club campsite in Kosmonosy which was interesting. Cheap & cheap beer. Just to be clear, I have no interest in Skodas, just that we turned up in the town and followed signs to a campsite.

Also here, in Pilsen where we’ve stayed twice so it must have been at least ok. Also cheap beer and a great sausage based menu in the cafe.

There were others but I can’t remember where but I don’t remember anywhere being a dud.

Poland, not quite so well blessed with campsites in our experience. But that could have just been bad luck. We camped on the infield of a sports arena somewhere or other, which was surprisingly good, and a really nice one hard on the border with Slovakia in the Tatar mountains. Although massive thunderstorms made for an interesting night and a river getting increasingly swollen and threatening to overflow. Cheap laundry though, but an expensive restaurant on site where we ate due to the storms. The lodge mentioned above, and somewhere okish on the coast. On reflection we didn’t do Poland justice so definitely need to go back.

Poland only - try .......... https://www.campsitesinpoland.com/en/map-campingsites-in-poland

CZ/PL .......... https://www.camping.info/en/

It's a while since we did EE in a VW camper van, so no relevant current experience to share.

Just be aware that the sites near the big cities, say Prague, get some pretty heavy use during the summer period. It can get a tad chaotic - people from all around the World with disputed body clocks & facilities under strain. It's sometimes better to camp out in the country areas & take public transport to any tourist hot spots. When it comes to planning, we used Michelin Green Guides & Lonely Planet.
