Anyone aware if these JE kits work on the BMW G650 Rotax based unit, the kit supplies a liner sleeve, piston, rings and gaskets.
Bit more thump if you needed it.

I think you will find that the BMW rotax's do not have replaceable sleeves. So it would not be a straight swap. Now if you can remove the nickasil and machine the bore out, maybe you could do something, then you would need to change the fueling. The latter being the real expensive job.

I think it was rossi from this forum that suggested a big power gain could be made from just junking the standard air filter, cat exhaust and fuel injection, and putting a BFO carb on it, along with better filter and pipe :D.

There was mention of swampy at marsh performance and 60bhp in the same sentance to.

though it is slightly hazy now- i was half way down a bottle of wine at the time :D

Swampy does that with the ktm690 and gets a lot more than 60hp. Not the Xch though. There is someone on AdvRider who has a big bore Xch but I can't remember who. Swampy has helped me get my Remus can to a sensible volume though (when Swampy says it's too loud you know it's time to sort it) and is working on a fork swap for me.

There are gains to be had from the usual stuff: air filter, remove inner airbox cover, silencer all make a difference. A larger injector is also meant to help but I can't verify that one (yet).

Waded thro some of the stuff on ADVrider comparing the KTM and some other comments that the DS650 liner kits are unreliable (and from the sounds of it are incompatible), so going to stay with the breathing mods that have allready made the bike more lively without compromising the manufacturers build.

these people do Rotax upgrades and are better recommended just of interest

You will find that the only way to really get a jump n performance in these engines is to change cams. Also look at Team Pami. They prep'ed the dakar race rotaxes if memory serves
