my local dyno man just returned an email asking if my 2005 r1200gs has a power commander fitted...
if not then he cant do a remap
is that cos he doesnt have the equipment or is that normal for my model
cheers all

Hilltop reckon the R1100s is possible, so any 1200 should be a given..........

(Unless you speak to "mummy's precious little battery-boy" )

got email from hilltop and they say yes they can....
got a message from my local dyno and he says he can fit and custom map a pc5 all for the bargain price of
£540.
so now its hilltop v af xied.....i wont ask the question cos i know theres lots on here ref the power commander so ill do my research first...

All 1200s can be remapped. Ask Geoff at Hilltop.

Bikes before that possibly can't be remapped but they can be rechipped. The bloke you are talking to should know that so probably best find someone who actually knows what he's doing.

However do you want someone taking a soldering iron to your bike's ECU? The easiest option on older engines is the AF-XiED.

Surely the esteemed and qualified Engineer could fix it so that even early GS's can be remapped; there is a vast marketing opportunity that he could be tapping into.

Do a Hilltop or XIED but not the powercommander. The PC requires you disconnect the O2 sensors, which effectively disables some of the best parts of your ECU.

The AF-XIED can easily be self installed and later can be removed when you sell or upgrade. Lots written about exactly how it works.

cheers for all your input.....im leaning towards the af xied but in no rush at the moment...
cheers all
