Can anyone explain this to me, please?

Seemingly, in spite of everything, we still have juvenile neanderthals who see this as a bit of craic to pass boring summer evenings. Again, it begs the question about parental control. Hopefully there is nothing more sinister behind it than that.

Bin all I can say is that there are those "people" who have grown up amongst the shite and biggotry that has soured this beautiful country and who despite the best efforts of the politicians and peacekeepers will always mistrust and hate the "other side"

Instead of all those Do gooder policies Someone should load them in a big coach and take them out in the countryside and show them what else is out there beyond the bricks and mortar! Better still load them on the pillion of a GS and take them out and show them the wee roads and wee places and maybe even buy them a Fish supper in Ballycastle for instance!

I despair of our fine country that the biggots and cutthroats cans till stir a crowd like this! Then again are they so very different to the fundamentalists of the middle east? Which I believe we both have had first hand experience of?

P.S. Just So no one is left wondering what my affiliations are?
I have none, except to my family primarily and friends, and to As my Da and Granda said to me as I grew up:~
"Do onto Others as you would have done onto yourself!" and "Live and Let Live"

AS Joe (the Celt would say) Peace and Love, Peace and love!

Not that Norn Iron is the only place where these things are going on.

In a book called "Freakonomics", they give the credit for big fall in crime rate in New York not to Giuliani's Zero Tolerance bullshit, but to legalisation of abortion in the 80's.

I think that there are children being born to people who have no interest in them and no idea how to rear them. Repeat that for a second generation and you get a mess.

If Parents had any clue or interest in their kids, how could these things happen?

Peace and Love,

Bin

AND why was there a crowd gathered ?? for a celebration ! what is being celebrated ? the closing of an establishment ! now alot of things close down for one reason or another but do "they" always bring people onto the street to celebrate ?
ok so it was a police station , love them or loathe them they do need to exist in communities cause sure enough if some sort of misdemeanor or murder or criminal act takes place within 300 yards of that CLOSED station the same DO-GOODER who brought all those people out onto the street for a "peaceful celebration" will have every type of media coverage BAYIN FOR SOMEONES HEAD cos there are no PSNI officers in the vacinity to support/protect/apprehend HOODIE WEARING ****ERS ! oh and just before its mentioned i know the young chaps with the hurly sticks were try to give the headlights a gentle tap cos the lights were defective !

(no insinuation that any legite hurly players were involved)

Just be glad it was'nt a long hot summer Bin...
Because believe me there be a lot more stories like this...

Now i am no expert... so this is me own opnion :comfort

In Belfast at the moment there is a wee battle going on,
between Sinn Féin and a wee group...
For the life of me i cant understand Sinn Féin and as for the
life of me the "wee group" are not worth my breath.

As i've said before in another thread about british troops coming
home parade in Belfast, Sinn Féin made another mistake, but i dont know
if they are trying to hold onto the old guard or trying to recuit the new.

Belfast is a funny place...
for example you wake up in the morning going to work and
there be a wee slogan written on a gable wall and by the
time you've brought a bottle of milk theres another one there
saying the opposite...

As for rioting, when we where young (rightly or wrongly)
it was all a bit of craic...
If you hit a Brit you where a hero, if a plasltic was fired
you tried to grab it...
Madness, TOTAL MADNESS !!!

But that was then this is now, its time for the fools that are in power
to look at what they have achieved and be greatiful and start to
build a better place for our kids than the one that was before...

love n laughter

Joe,
All these conflicts have a legacy (as the Israelis will find out, when they turn on themselves after the Palestinians get sorted), but I feel very sorry for ordinary Irish people in many parts of the country whose lives are being hijacked by violent men who do not have one drop of patriotic blood in their bodies. The drug barons are the worst, and would make me vote for capital punishment as the only way to get rid of them.
Bin
