Can anyone recommend a cheap laptop for internet access.

I would like to buy a cheap laptop to access the internet. Reasonable graphics, WiFi and a decent size screen are the main requirements.
I am a complete numpty when it comes to computers: anyone have any recommendations?

I bouught one from Comet last year - an ADVENT ERT2250 for £399 with Wi-fi 15.4" TFT screen 1024MB RAM, Intel Contrino Due porcessor, Windows Vista etc . It's been great. Now you should be able to pick one up for less or go 2nd hand.
 
When I bought my lads I got him a Dell Vostro. It's a business laptop which means you get next day 'engineer to you' warrenty rather than the normal send it away jobbie. It seems like a really good laptop and has given him no problem in the last 12 months.
 
Its a Vostro Im on just now, got it about 18 mths ago for about £300 from the link above. Managed to get my daughter a better spec, lighter and slimmer laptop a couple of months ago also :thumb2
 
I asked a similar question some time ago... the Samsung NC10 was suggested by several parties.

Bought one, Amazon less than £300, does the job :thumb

Hi i went to PC World...wanted an internet dongle to use for my work laptop..at £15 a month.
...then with that and for £40 a month for 2 years i could also have a laptop. So for £40 a month for 2 years i have a laptop for life and a dongle contract for 2 years....i have used the dongle in my personal laptop, work one and my son has used it in his desktop when the wifi went wonky.

I am not a technical person, but they do have a good range of laptops to choose from....i chose the Acer 4mb hard drive 17" screen, clarity of picture is brillient, especially if you want to use it for games and dvds etc. It also has bluetooth and built in camera in the lid..It does me.
