Can I fit a 1200 front shock on a 1150?

As per the title....

Can I fit a 1200 front shock on a 1150?

I've had a search and come up blank but I've got the option of a cheap 1200 front shock to replace my shagged front one.......Well I think it's shagged as the front leaps about acceleration/deceleration and it's horrible at night getting 2 foot in front of the bike illuminated then the trees!

Good question. I doubt it very much, the telelever is different and the front frame is also different. Why don’t you sell all that fake carbon stuff and buy yourself an ohlins

They are welded and sealed, so AFAIK they cannot

What I need is someone with a Hagon/Wilbers/Ohlins and a Carbon fetish!

Since I like to ride up some dirt track and wild camp, it's probably a waste me having it all, I might just resell to the highest bidder and donate the profit to charity, bad Karma and all that if I take the pi$$!

How many miles has the bike done?.
Not the most sensitive of front ends on BMs but it is the most stable.Are you sure its not something else?Try removing the shock and check for smooth movement in the other fork/telelever components.Any vibration when braking-possible warped discs.

Done just under 80k and this is the not the first set of shocks, I got it last year.

I've spent a good deal of time going over all the components, it's just that there is no damping to slow the bikes reaction to acceleration/deceleration, plus I'm a fat bastard so that's dynamic weight moving to make it worse.

If there is an option to rebuild the front shock, that looks like a winner.

Yes it is directly interchageable, but the spring rates are WAY wrong as the 1200 is lighter.... but it fits.

Are you sure its the front. When my rear goosed itself and the rebound daming went squiffy the front would go up and down as the rear was so soft.

I've got a decent spare rear, so I have checked it.

I nabbed a couple of Hagons on the for sale section last night for £110, I'll fit the front and decide on the rear as it has no remote on it and is setup for a 15 stone rider + 10 stone pillion + 30kgs of kit! So I think it's going to be harder than a hard thing on a hard day

I was looking in the Ohlins cattledog last week, and the spring rates for both 1150and 1200 front shocks are the same. There is a difference of 2mm in both quoted overall length and travel,

All I know is it is way soft for my riding, I have an 1150GSA shock on the rear and the 1200 on the front screws up the balance for me.
