just been out for a ride on the g/s and lost all gear selection up and down
now thinking of the best way to go, get it rebuilt, prob just a spring gone i would think,but not something i would attempt myself! or a recon exchange from motorworks at 370£ ish.
any ideas from you helpful lot as the best way to go steve

Send it to SED in Sleaford and get it mended properly (01529 300434) and save the Motorworks mark up!

As above, but bear in mind that Steve usually has a waiting list, so don't expect it back in a hurry

Have you checked the linkage, where it bolts into the gearbox. If the centre bolt has come loose you will not be able to select a gear. Only a thought and a lot cheaper to fix

but just in-case its not that simple, i cant remember whats easier,engine forward or swing arm out, its been a few years since i last had to do it

No sir, the engine stays in place.

New clutch as well while it's all apart -

you don't have to take the tank, battery or side panels off when you remove the gearbox -
