Have been offered System 4 helmet at a great price but - it's too big. Is it permissible/possible to make my head larger. I was thinking of padding out a balaclava or similar 'til the lid was a good fit alround (perhaps leaving a bit of extra space where my in ear monitors would otherwise touch)?

this is favoured by those that get pissed off being asked to remove the lid at fuel stops... :augie

a serious reply;
it's your head - do as you see fit.
you'll get replies ranging from "dont risk your head!" :rob to "stuff any oul thing in there - you'll be fine" :thumb

in the '70's it was the fashion (well - as far as Luton was ever fashionable:rolleyes:) to wear a bobble hat with the bobble removed under yer lid. :blast

people do wear balaclavas under the lid after all :nenau

however, (my 2 cents) anything that allows the lid to shift in a crash by any amount may compromise the protection.
brain damage is often caused by swift rotation of the brain within the skull. more so then the sheer impact. (am open to correction by a qualified person on that though)

Good Luck

Arai do a number of interiors to complement the shells they produce - to give a large range of fitments.

I guess you need to find out if BMW does similar?

Why not Google "System 4 shell size" or "System 4 lining thickness" or the likes................

They should be a tight fit from new.............buying one too big sounds like a really bad idea!
