for being stupid and not leaving things alone
Finally got mapsource sorted and CN9 working but seeing as my c drive was getting a bit full thought I`d move to e drive. I AM A DICK HEAD cos now it doesn`t bloody work  I`ve tried removing it, re installing it, doing a system restore but for some reason it`s not working. I need this programme and it`s wasting my life pissing about trying to fix it :blast

Why didn`t I just leave it alone when it was working?

Shite :blast Not only have I paid the £60 for the unlock code I can`t bloody use it. CN9 seems to install ok it`s just CN6 that won`t and it needs it as a base
There is a bit of mapsource left on the "add/remove" programmes thats 1.38 mb but when I try and remove it the install wizard comes up with this-
c:\program files\installshield installation information\{5e3cfca6-c95a-47cb-a822-7fa80d423af2} and says I need to insert disk 1 that contains the file data2.cab :nenau No disk I have seems to have that :nenau

Any ideas? I`ll try and put myself through it again if more info is needed.

I`ve come to a brick wall now, the next step is giving it to a shop to sort which I don`t really want to do

You dont say what Windows you run - if it is XP or Vista you can probably do a "Restore" back to a day or two before you messed things up and then reinstall Mapsource.

XP and I`ve tried a system restore but no luck :(

Are you sure? I though CN9 was a stand alone programme. Give Garmin support a ring or an email, they will sort you out!

My mate who has more experience on computers has spent an hour or 2 trying to sort it. CN 9 has been on but seems not to be a stand alone programme but an update :nenau I think it`s more to do with my pc than the CN9

The pc is going to the shop in the morning to get the nerds to sort it out. It makes it worse that I had it all working ok until I tried to "fix" it

Have you tried deleting all registry enteries for Garmin? go start - Run - type " regedit" go to Edit - Find and type " garmin " delete all entries and try reinstalling.
