Sorry if this has been done to death but my searches are not giving me the info I need.

Is it a cold hard fact that an acrapovic exhaust from a pre 2010 R1200GS will not fit on a twin cam?

Is it a physical fittment thing or is is the black magic stuff inside? (Don't get too technical).

cheers
Neil

As above, it will fit, if you ditch the valve, I have done it, its not a problem.

It also fits with GSA side frames. But will foul the captive nits on the pillion footrest clamp. I un-clipped the nuts and used two M4 x 30 button head screws from the back - side with dome nuts on the front side. It looks standard but gives enough clearance.

It's a bit annoying Akra chose to angle the cans away from the wheel. Mounted parallel they would be narrow enough to allow two full size cases.

Thanks for that Bendy. I'm not sure I will faff about with it. I will probably wait for a while and get the right one when they get older and cheaper. I'm quite happy with the standard noise but I have ridden others with the acrapovic and they do seem to rev a little bit easier. It could also have been that they had a few thousand more miles on them I hear these engines improve with age. Mines just coming up to 9,000 miles.

Thanks for all the help.

Neil
