to play all regions?

I want a few DVD's from USA on Region 0. As you know over here its region 2.

Is there any mod i can do or Anything else?

Cheers

I bought a DVD player off Amazon for £20 which came with an unlock sequence you needed to do from your remote control..

It's a bit of a pain. I can check the model when I get home if you like.. PM me

You have three options:-

1. If your DVD player can be programmed to be region free then do that check out http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/ for your machine and apply the hack.

2. Buy another machine which is region free,.

3. If you have a computer download DVD Shrink and decode the DVD to be Region free and at the same time re author it so you don't get all the crap, just the movie with the highest spec soundtrack but no menu's, its easy to do then burn another DVD. If you have a scanner you can also scan the cover and the disc so it can be printed onto the blank DVD.

Region 0 is not USA. Region 1 = USA. Region 0 just means the DVD does not have a region assigned to it and as such will play in practically any DVD player out there.

As has been said in this thread you will need to unlock your DVD player. Take a look here for some unlock codes: http://www.dvdhacks.co.uk/
If you don't have any luck there let me know what model your DVD player is and I will try my best to get an unlock code for you :)

no handset unlocks for major manufactrers (sony, toshiba, jvc etc.) AFAIK.

cheap multi region chinese player from richer sounds or tescos may be your best bet if you have one of those.

To play cheap Dvd's from both the USA and Hong Kong I had to send my Panasonic DVD + 5.1 Surround Sound away to get chipped as there were no hacks available.
It would have been much cheaper and a lot less trouble to buy a cheap multi region player - Amazon have ones at £20 or £55 for a Sony

You will also need check your TV as Region 1 DVD's are NSTC format and require an NTSC capable television but most modern TV's seem to have no problems playing import DVD's and video games
