Indeed they were. Used to be great on my old Africa Twins but rubbish on the GS for some reason?
Crap tyre in the dry , worse in the wet , mind you they did have one plus point they wore out very quickly

Michelin also made the equally terrible Macadam. So hideously bad that I've never bought another Michelin tyre. Car or bike.
They were fitted to a very low miles Diversion 600 I bought in 2006. The front slipped so badly it had rubbed away in 4000 miles. The rear lasted 9000 of motorway commutes and still had tread to spare but it was awful to use on any other roads.

Bad move. Michelin now produce car and bike tyres that offer, arguably, the best balance between grip and longevity.
I never used Macadams - I was never that cheap.
However, a friend of mine who commuted 85 miles a day on his VFR fitted them once in the interests of economy and declared them "utter shite". To be fair, they were marketed as a budget sports-touring tyre.

I think you didn't read my post properly, now did you, William....
In spite of Bibendum's likeness to the fat tosser stereotype, I'm actually a big fan of Michelin rubber with Anakee 3 on the GS and Pilot Primacy on the Golf.
Likewise
T66X was abysmal
Whereas as the Metz Enduro 4 was a revelation
Pity they don't make it now

I had T66's on my then new F650 Funduro in 1996 and as a new rider they really scared me sh*tless in the wet..............Changed them at less than half worn to Metzelers and became a cornering God overnight(not really a god but at least I could get round corners without pooping my pants in the wet)
There's still a pair of T66's with good tread on my silage pit if anyone wants them!
