i collected a new battery for my 03 1150 adv yesterday from rainbow, set about changing it over this morning, evrything went as planned until i tried to start it, then it would`nt all it did was cough and fart ,only start with the fast idle on then when revved it stalled. i rang rainbow and they said i must have damaged the fuel pump or something was trapped, so i took it all to pieces and checked everything 5 times whille still attempting to start it at these varying stages, until i changed back to the old battery and it started perfect and ran perfect.. i rang them back an told em this only because sometimes they can appear a little dismissive, but they offered to swap it straight away, no problem, i`ve only wrote this just to see if anybody has had this problem and knew why it happens,if i had any hair i think i would be wearing a small bald patch to the left. ...thanks stainy.

well i bought it under the impression that it was fully charged, but in me excitement failed to check, but would all that happen if it was`nt fully charged, it was turning over ok,???

Try putting your new battery back on and make sure you haven't dislodged the rh throttle cable this time.

Wot Timolgra said. When you lifted the tank to fit the battery, bet you disturbed the throttle cable seating on one side - (can't find the picture though!)

It must be my turn to post the picture :D

silly question of the week...

err.. if the bike starts and runs perfect with the old battery.

why are you changing it?

seems to be a classic example of 'if it ain't broke....'
