not allways where i should be
weather permitting I was thinking of a potter to RAF coningsby on Friday to hopefully see the Canadian Lancaster land in prep for its tour this summer with the british one, aprox landing is 1pm to 1.30pm, I`m setting off from north Manchester if anyone is interested:thumb. p.s. not much of a plane buff, just want to see a bit of history land:)

Good call, I'll have a wander along to Teesside airport to have a look at this one (still can't get used to it's 'new' name. Booking opens today for tickets, but the site isn't running yet).

I might have been tempted to go by train (Britain's least used railway station http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ed-railway-station-EIGHT-passengers-year.html ), to bump the figures up a bit...except they only seem to run on Sundays to the airport :D

It's last display with the BBMF is Southport Sept 20th before departing on 22nd

The Memorial flight at Southport on Sept. 20th

Thanks for the heads-up on that .........I 'll be going there too.

Any point in suggesting a group run from Wirral / Liverpool? Anyone else interested?

Saw a Lancaster Bomber flying low over J & S at Oakmere today.. Awesome.. :thumb2

Saw that too. At Sandbach.
Where was it going from to ?

Low and well noisy.

My uncle Jim

I hope I will be forgiven this wee display of family pride. A pic sent to me by my Uncle Jim, 92 year old ex navigator on Lancasters. My late dad's younger brother who I have not met for many years but am in touch with via email now. 92 and sending emails! Not bad eh? Hope I'm up to that at his age. Anyway, he was invited to meet with the Canuck crew at Coningsby. Very proud of him.
