Very pleased with Cannon's. Gave up going to Sawbridgeworth 'cos of high service costs. Well worth while riding the extra 35 miles over to chelmsford! Reasonable service prices (printed on web site) and honest advice.

Used Cannons for the past 6 years and 4 bikes. Very good, friendly family run business. You will pay standard BMW prices usually.

There is an ex BMW mechanic based in Battlesbridge, I think, who is very good and probably cheaper. I've never used him as my bike is still in warranty. Others have though, and I'm sure they will post details.

I have used them for my first service, 6K and 12K without problems after being let down by Park Lane.

The only downside is that they are moving out of Chelmsford sometime next year to Braintree which is a bit far for me.

Nothing but praise. Friendly, knowledgable and patient. I've bought from them, had the bikes serviced by them and got my pride and joy back from them in one piece again when we've departed company on the Queen's highway.

used them for several services..they deserve to do well and its a shame they are moving to braintree as a previous boy said . howver, wont affect me as im moving over to the dark side and buying jap due to the high running costs of a beemer already twice the price of any other commuter bike..........now to wait for the flak from you lot!!!

Service costs are high at some BMW dealers, but other franchise dealers out there are charging as much as BM dealers. There is also the issue of service intervals. Many japanese machines need a service every 4k miles compared to 6k on the GS.

There is another way of course.....................service it yourself. The GS is a straightforward bike to work on and you don't need much in the way of special tools. If your bike is out of warranty, its well worth considering.

I bought my K1 from there and have had it serviced there and at Sawbridgeworth.

Only complaint has been that they get booked up well in advance (2-3 week wait) and they lost a fairing fastener once (replaced FOC)- they are good people to deal with except at trade in time :(
