Can't remove seat and can't twiddle me preload knob

Hi all
Got an 06 f550gs and have tried removing the seat .... But alas without success. Pulled the red handle but seat didn't pop out... Only thing did pop was red plastic handle which popped out Into my hand popped back on ok but still won't release seat?? Any suggestions please?

Problemo number 2.when got bike on Friday the preload adjuster knob for rear shock could turn freely but today won't turn at all? Have checked position and appears to be on firmest high position which I would prefer but wondering if something has seized? Would freeing off screw in middle make any difference?

Sprayed me knob and barrel with gt 85 spray and either dud the job or I turned it extra hard ut turns beautifully
So now just me seat release isn't working.....

Try pushing down on the seat as you pull the release, pull too hard and it'll come off in your hand.............

Got it sorted had to pull seat back and up as I engaged red plastic lever

To save yourself the minor hassle of opening the cubby hole to access the lever, stick a cable tie on it and pass the other end through one of the drain holes to the rear of it. Cut it off with an inch showing to grab onto.

Due to the rack and back box arrangement on Ange's Sertao, we can't get to the cubby hole so I've tied a boot lace to the catch and fed it out the back
